October saw Toyota continuing its leadership in the green car movement. Not only did the bestselling automaker release its brand-new Toyota Mirai fuel-cell sedan, it also announced its plans to be gas free by 2050.

The all-new Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel-cell sedan has announced a major milestone: a driving range of 312 miles. This is a very impressive driving range that bests Tesla’s electric sedans by 42 miles.

Toyota has just opened its first assembly line for its new fuel cell sedan: the Mirai. Debuting last year, the Mirai is the first mass produced sedan to incorporate hydrogen fuel cell technology. Hydrogen fuel has become the next big thing in green cars across all automakers, due to its water vapor-only emissions.
