A rugged and top-notch SUV, the 2017 Toyota 4Runner just got even better. That’s because purchasers will now have two new models to choose from: TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium. And if you’re looking to take your off-road adventures to new heights, you’ll definitely want to check them out!

Each new grade mentioned above comes with TRD (Toyota Racing Development) styling. For forty years, TRD vehicles have been racing on some of the most unforgiving terrain around, and that history is reflected in both of these grades.

ā€œ4Runner owners often take their SUVs off the beaten path, so these new TRD Off-Road grades will be a popular recognition of TRD’s history in the off-road arena,ā€ said John Myers, national manager, trucks and SUVs, Toyota.

Now available in six trims, SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited and TRD Pro, the 2017 4Runner was built for success. The new TRD Off-Road 4Runner gets black painted wheels and a one-of-a-kind TRD Off-Road badge on the C-pillar.

Hop inside and you’ll notice a sporty TRD Shift Knob that can be found just underneath the center console. The floor mats also feature TRD Off-Road badges, adding to the vehicle’s sporty styling. The TRD Off-Road Premium gets all these extras, and ā€œTRDā€ red lettering on the front passenger and driver headrests.

On top of these benefits, Toyota has sweetened the deal even further by adding their Multi-Terrain Select system that lets the driver use a dial to select the mode that coincides with the prevailing terrain. To continue the list of off-road credentials, the SUV also gets things like departure angles, high-ground clearance and available suspension upgrades.
