When it comes to choosing a family car, it’s all about safety. Buyers constantly ask for a vehicle that will offer top-notch protection and keep their children out of harm’s way, and Toyota is answering that call. Dedicated to developing secure, reliable cars, trucks and SUVs, Toyota engineers have gone to great lengths to make child safety seat mounts easy to access and use. Due to their efforts, the 2016 RAV4 has been included on Cars.com’s Car Seat Honor Roll – a big win for the nameplate!
“We’ve put a lot of effort into making installation of child safety seats easier, and we’re glad to see that it’s working,” said Jennifer Pelky, senior safety engineer at Toyota’s North American R&D Headquarters. “I have two young boys myself, and child passenger safety is of the utmost importance to me, both as a mother and an engineering professional that has an active role in LATCH development on Toyota vehicles.”
Out of 84 2016 and 2017 models tested by Cars.com, the 2016 RAV4 was one of six to make the automotive website’s final list. Certified child passenger safety technicians performed the tests, making sure the RAV4 safely accommodates booster seats, convertible seats and infant seats. It was able to earn a perfect score in every test category, trumping the competition.
