The new Trailhunter idea is announced at the SEMA show for Toyota Trucks, along with its future lineup.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, or SEMA, unveiled the idea for the Trailhunter. This will be a bit of a Flagship offering to show how Toyota is going to be using the trucks with a purpose that it is putting out, as well as other SUV options under this concept.
Trucks from the Trailhunter lineup come equipped with what you want straight from the factory. The idea is that Trailhunter vehicles will be designed specifically for those who are enthusiastic about the outdoors. Many of these vehicles from the lineup will support options like being able to live off the grid remotely. The vehicles will have options like specific suspension options, roof racks, skid plates, and more. You will get options specific to life in a truck, like specific lighting and a small refrigerator. A rooftop tent, and more.
It's slated to come with a lot more as well. This will include stuff you need for a base camp, for example. It will also include recovery gear and whatever other equipment that you happen to need for the trip. This is one of the most valuable parts of the lineup. You can outfit yourself with whatever you need. It's often the case that those interested in using their truck for adventures need a lot of different potential equipment to get it done.
A lot of effort is going to be expended to get overlanding specifications correct for each type of vehicle within the Trailhunter lineup. That way, you will be able to both get the specialty vehicle that you want and also outfit it specifically.
