In 2020, the Camry is offered with all-wheel drive for the first time ever. This innovative new drivetrain configuration is standard on some trims and available on others. Along with its improved performance and handling capabilities, the Camry gets some other notable improvements this year, too. One is that Android Auto is now standard across the board. A new trim called the TRD joins the Camry lineup this year, too. The TRD emphasizes performance and features a sporty appearance.
The 2020 Camry is part of the eighth Camry generation that began in 2018. The hybrid version of the Camry also gets some changes this year, primarily to the cabin. As with the gasoline-powered Camry, the hybrid comes standard with Android Auto as well. This year, the Camry hybrid stands out for many reasons. Its powertrain configuration offers a winning combination of fuel economy and quick acceleration. The interior is exceptionally spacious and comfortable.
There's plenty of room for five occupants in the 2020 Camry and plenty of space for cargo, too, with a cavernous trunk. Nearly 15 paint colors, including several two-tone color schemes, give you almost infinite options for giving your Camry or Camry hybrid just the right look.
The 2020 Camry lineup starts with the L. This trim has a capable seven-inch infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Several add-on options are available to provide a custom finish. The LE gets head-turning 17-inch alloy wheels. It also has an adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support. This trim is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense package of driver-assist aids. The XLE comes standard with a larger eight-inch infotainment display complete with a user-friendly touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
It upgrades to 18-inch wheels with a polished silver finish. The XLE V6 has an upscale JBL sound system and a tilt-slide moonroof. The SE gets unique exterior accents, including a black grille with sport mesh inserts, 18-inch black alloy wheels, and more. The SE Nightshade Edition adds black mirror caps, a black rear spoiler, black door handles, and black window trim.
The XSE features larger 19-inch black alloy wheels and Audio Plus sound system. The hybrid lineup starts with the LE, which has an eight-way adjustable driver's seat and push-button start. The SE has a sport-tuned suspension, larger wheels, and a black front grille. The XLE gets a larger standard infotainment system.
The 2020 Camry has two engines, while the hybrid has one. The standard engine on the 2020 Toyota Camry is a four-cylinder with a 2.5L capacity. This engine generates just over 200 HP. The second engine is a larger and more powerful 3.5L with six cylinders. This engine generates 301 HP. The hybrid engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder that produces 176 HP. Both have automatic transmissions.
Front and back, the 2020 Camry has many safety features. Fortified crumple zones protect occupants if there's an accident, while traction control, stability control, and a plethora of driver-assist safety aids are designed to stop accidents before they happen.
