Toyota has just released a series of documentary shorts focused on teen driving. The new series is in partnership with the automaker’s TeenDriver365 initiative that looks to promote safe driving among teens and their parents.
The short documentaries were directed by three award-winning Getty Images photojournalists - Ben Lowy, Sara Lewkowicz and Shaul Schwarz. The journalists met with and documented three different families, all of whom had a teen driver just starting out on the road. Check out all three videos below!
The first documentary in the series follows the Rabinowitz family of Boston, who are uneasy about their child beginning to drive.
This is followed by De’Qonton’s story, a teen in Florida who sees the freedom and opportunity of getting behind the wheel.
Finally, the docu-series ends with the Vaught family, who begin to see their teenage daughter Chloe as more of an adult after she uses her new license to drive her family to her grandmother’s funeral.
“As the mother of two teenagers, I understand first-hand the range of emotions that parents can experience when their teen receives their driver’s license,” said Marjorie Schussel, Corporate Marketing Director for Toyota. “Even though the families featured in Toyota’s TeenDrive365series all have unique stories to share, the common thread is that each parent is deeply involved in their teen’s journey to get their license.”
