The Avalon has many attractive features and qualities that have earned it the first choice in its class, including a spacious cabin, innovative technology, top safety features, and cutting-edge technology. In 2021, the Toyota Avalon gets some changes to its list of technology features to make it even more connected and tech-savvy. Smartphone integration with Android Auto is now standard on the Avalon. Performance gets a boost with all-wheel drive options on certain trims, and special performance tires for the Nightshade and TRD trims. The Nightshade is added as a new trim. The 2021 Toyota Avalon Hybrid switches to a lithium-ion battery this year, and it also gains Android Auto.

2021 Avalon Trims & Features

The Avalon has five trim levels. There are three trims for the Avalon Hybrid. The XLE is the first trim for both Avalon models. With the XLE comes bright LED lighting with LED bulbs in the front and back ends. This trim has 17-inch wheels finished with alloy. Its interior has a push-button start, and its base-level technology includes a 9-inch touchscreen display. Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are standard. There are four USB ports to charge devices in both rows.

The XSE Nightshade Edition, a new trim for the Avalon, has painted black wheels and black exterior trim accents. The Limited gains a sunroof and premium chrome wheels, along with adaptive cornering lights on the front end. Wireless phone charging is included on this trim level, with a more upscale cabin with leather seats, heated seats in front and back, and wood cabin accents. The Touring, exclusive to the regular Avalon, also has aluminum accents in the interior. It also has an adaptive suspension. A black spoiler is added for a sporty look. The TRD tops the line for the Avalon with high-performance looks and amenities.

The Toyota Avalon's base engine is a V6. The engine achieves a max power output of just over 300 HP. Its torque reaches 267 LB-FT, and you will get an eight-speed transmission. The XLE and Touring can get up to 205 HP and 185 LB-FT in torque. The Avalon Hybrid produces 215 HP.
