What's New For the 2021 Toyota Prius?
Ever the innovator, the Toyota Prius brings consumers some changes for 2021. This year, the Prius is more tech-savvy with more standard technology across the board. No matter which trim you choose, the Prius is now equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa for all your rides. All-wheel drive is available as a drivetrain for when your Prius needs additional traction on wet or slippery roads. Along with its new technology, the Prius comes equipped with more standard safety equipment than before. Completing the list of new features for the Prius in 2021 is the launch of a new limited-edition trim level called the 2020 Edition, which has unique exterior accents that give it a different look from its Prius siblings.
2021 Prius Trims and Features
The 2021 Toyota Prius is produced in five trim levels. The first trim in the series is called the L Eco. The base trim has a stylish exterior characterized by automatic LED headlights and 15-inch wheels. With a standard seating capacity of five, the L Eco can take the family along for the ride. The Prius also has room for all your belongings with over 50 cubic feet of storage space when the back seats are folded down. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa are housed in a seven-inch infotainment system. The second trim, called the LE, adds an intelligent parking system and some additional safety features. Following is the XLE with larger 17-inch alloy wheels with five spokes. Soft simulated leather seats are standard. The front seats are heated for comfort, and you get a wireless smartphone charger. The 2020 Edition gets black alloy wheels and black-accented headlights, while the Limited gets adaptive lighting in front and a color head-up display.

2021 Toyota Prius Horsepower
All 2021 Toyota Prius trims are equipped with the same Synergy Drive system that combines a 1.8-liter V4 engine and a two-motor electric system, producing approximately 121 HP. An automatic transmission also comes standard. Most trims have front-wheel drive, but the LE and XLE are also available with all-wheel drive (AWD-e).
Toyota Prius Safety
Starting at the base level, there are many standard safety features on the 2021 Toyota Prius. All Toyota Prius trims offer the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 as standard. This safety package comes equipped with a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane tracing alert, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert and road sign assist. Adaptive cruise control helps maintain a safe following distance from the car in front, while lane departure warning sends an alert if the Prius drifts out of its lane. Blind-spot monitoring and parking assist are standard features when selecting trims above the L Eco.
