What's New For the 2021 Toyota Sienna?

The 2021 model year welcomes the Toyota Sienna's fourth generation of production. Looking more like the "Swagger Wagon" moniker it adopted a few years ago, the Sienna is a more fuel-efficient and better-handling minivan. Also, for 2021, it now has an exclusive hybrid powertrain and optional all-wheel drive.

Which Features Are Available for 2021?

The 2021 Toyota Sienna is available in five variants: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, and Platinum. The LE comes with three cloth-trimmed rows of seats, including eight-way power on the driver's side. Access and engine starting is convenient due to remote keyless entry and push-button engine start, respectively. The driver, front passenger, and second-row passengers get climate controls. For infotainment, the Sienna combines a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, Amazon Alexa compatibility, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto smartphone integration, a few months of SiriusXM Radio service, a USB data port, and six charging-only USB ports, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 9-inch touchscreen.

The XLE comes with synthetic leather seat trim, front-seat heating, four-way power on the front passenger seat, a power moonroof, proximity keyless entry, quad-zone automatic climate control (extension of climate control to third-row passengers), an eight-speaker system, HD Radio, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a garage-door opener. The XSE gains a driver voice amplification intercom and a navigation system, and the XLE welcomes leather seat trim, front-seat ventilation, a 12-speaker stereo system, and wireless charging ability. Only the Platinum gets steering-wheel and second-row heating.

The brand-new hybrid powertrain on the 2021 Toyota Sienna puts together a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a pair of electric motors, and a continuously variable transmission for a total output of 245 horsepower.

Toyota Sienna Safety Features

Driver assistance on the 2021 Sienna consists of the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite, a rearview camera with rear parking sensors, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Ten airbags provide restraint and cushioning, and they are accompanied by a one-year subscription to Safety Connect for summoning assistance if needed. Front parking sensors and hands-free parking assist if you go up a notch (XLE). Exclusive to the Platinum are a surround-view camera (which replaces the rearview one) and a head-up display directly in the driver's line of sight.
