What's New for the 2022 Toyota Tacoma?

The Toyota Tacoma is back in Grapevine for another year! This is a rugged and durable truck that artfully combines style, function, and comfort. The 2022 Tacoma gets a few minor updates, but nevertheless, the changes that it get are still appreciated by consumers. This year's Tacoma features an upgraded suspension system and enhanced wheels for two trims, which are the TRD Pro and the Trail Edition. As before, the Toyota Tacoma comes with several options for performance, including an optional manual transmission on the higher-end trims. The Trail Edition, which is a relatively new trim to start with, has some aesthetic adjustments this year and a few minor mechanical upgrades.

2022 Tacoma Trims & Features

The Tacoma comes in six trims for 2022, so Texas Toyota of Grapevine will give you plenty of options to choose from. Starting with the SR, some of its notable exterior components include steel wheels and a sliding rear window. Heated side mirrors are standard as well. The Tacoma also comes with a remote control system that allows you to access the truck from a distance. Dual-zone climate control is standard at the base level. The SR also contains a 7-inch touchscreen display, satellite radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and WiFi. The SR5 adds some additional creature comforts, including a leather steering wheel and a larger 8-inch touchscreen. It also has a power-operated driver's seat. Navigation, a bronze front grille, and a 120V power outlet are all available features if you choose the double cab configuration. The double cab model also comes with storage bins in the truck bed. The 120V power outlet is standard in the TRD Sport, which also gets heated side mirrors, a wireless charging pad, and keyless ignition. More chrome accents are added to the TRD Off-Road, which also has advanced off-road traction control. The Limited is the most luxurious in the lineup with a 360-degree camera, alloy wheels, LED headlights, a sunroof, and a silver-accented front grille. The TRD Pro has a premium exhaust system, an off-road camera, more safety technology, and a JBL sound system.

2022 Toyota Tacoma Horsepower

The standard engine for the first two trims of the Toyota Tacoma is a 2.7L engine with four cylinders. This engine provides up to 159 HP in power and 180 LB-FT in torque. The other Tacoma models have a 3.5L engine with six cylinders. This engine produces 278 HP in power and up to 265 LB-FT in torque. You'll get a six-speed transmission with both engines.
